Christiansburg, Virginia – Rick Hyatt, owner of Atmosphere Builders, a premier kitchen and bath remodeling company in Christiansburg, VA, was interviewed by Nikki Golden at the 2012 NARI Remodeling Show in Baltimore, MD, about Atmosphere Builders’ IDEA HOUSE. Said Rick Hyatt, “Our business is a full service remodeling company, yet it has emerged that we specialize in kitchen and bath remodeling.”
When asked about the state of the construction industry, Rick replied, “This economy has not been great for the construction industry, however we decided that we needed to invest in our future. So, instead of cutting back, we made a calculated financial risk in a unique marketing method, our IDEA HOUSE, an evolving showroom.” Atmosphere Builders purchased a home in an average neighborhood in Blacksburg, gutted the inside, and began remodeling. The home’s kitchen, four bathrooms, the rest of the home, and exterior will be remodeled in phases, each in a fresh and new style. Providing a real-life showroom like the IDEA HOUSE, gives potential clients a feel for the changes in a real space, which will help them visualize the potential of their own home, see new products, and make remodeling decisions easier.
The IDEA HOUSE will have an impact on the regional industry and the community. Rick said, “One of the things we did, was to engage the local universities. Va Tech has a nationally accredited Kitchen and Bath school, an Architecture school, and a Landscape Architecture school. With the professors, we have created some graded projects for the students, and we’ll get the students, as interns, to participate in the remodels for some hands-on experience.” To view the NARI interview video, go to www.atmospherebuilders.com/news.
